IRR Symposium


January 16, 2019 ---- HHDC STO conducted a free symposium entitled “Implementing Rules and Regulation on Department Order 198–18 under RA 11058 “An Act Strengthening Compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Standards and Providing Penalties for Violations Thereof” held at Reformare Wellness Center, Brgy. Aguado, Trece Martires Cavite.

The said symposium was attended by 60 participants from different companies. The discussion about awareness to Occupational Safety and Health was raised and some of the key issues were outlined by the guest speaker, Deputy Executive Director, Jose Maria Batino and Executive Director Engr. Noel Binag of Occupational Safety and Health Center, participated by the DOLE Cavite Provincial Director, Engr. Joy Sanqui Jr.

After the discussion, participants were asked their queries and concerns regarding OSH. The main issues that the participants concentrated on their questions included: The hazard prevention and control, information and compliance requirements and the low levels of awareness on OSH issues both among the ordinary public and the policymakers. Occupational Safety and Health needs to be a top priority of the organization to implement the workplace health and safety measures. Implementation of OSH in the workplace will improve the system of companies safety and control the risk of work-related hazards in the work premises.
