About us

HHDC is a worker-owned business partner that provides socially responsible and customized solutions to mainstream businesses. Our businesses must be commercially viable and sustainable to create value and build up resources for the worker-owners.

Our Story

Helping Hand Development Cooperative was born out of the simplest yet purest purpose: to help others. Prior to the establishment of HHDC, General Manager for Business Operations, Mr. Diogenes Garay II, saw the dificulty and uncertainty of contractual employment. A former Labor Relations Officer, he empathized with the plight of workers who have to transfer from one job to another after finishing their contracts in a span of six months.

Thus, on January 12, 2006, HHDC was established and officially registered with the Philippines Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) as a multi-purpose cooperative focusing specifically on workers service. Its noble mission is to promote productivity, self-esteem, and a sustainable economic environment for its members.

Much like any other initiative, HHDC underwent through birth pains. It started with merely 15 members, a handful of client companies, and a small office in Dasmariñas, Cavite. It was daunting for the pioneers, but as years passed, the impossible task become possible to accomplish.

In the past years, HHDC received various recognitions such as being nominated as "Outstanding Cooperative in the Province of Cavite" by the Cavite Provincial Government in 2010, and awarded as "Most Profitable Cooperative" and "Best in Assets" by the Cooperative Development Council of the City Government of Dasmariñas in 2012. HHDC is also ISO 9001:2015 Certified, an international seal of excellence recognizing its well-implemented Quality Management System specifically on the area of Career and Membership Sourcing and Assignment.

Indeed, Helping Hand Development Cooperative is a testament that from humble beginnings come great things. After a decade of hard work, determination, and dedication, what started as one man's vision grew into a large family of members whose lives are changed for good.

From a few satellite offices in different parts of the country at present, HHDC will continue to grow and soon its presence will be felt by more Filipinos who need a helping hand in more areas all over the Philippines as envisioned by its founder. It will carry on its quest to "reach out, inspire others and cultivate lives".

Our Amazing Team

WHAT MAKES A LEADER? When asked to define an ideal leader, may would emphasize traits such as intelligence, toughness, determination, and vision--the qualities traditionally associated with leadership. However, often left off the list are softer, more personal qualities--yet they are also essential. Emotional intelligence, motivation, empathy and social skills are other key attributes of leadership.
